Brazil: Coronavirus infections surpass 5.5 million


(MENAFN) The Ministry of Health declared on Friday, October 30, that Brazil's coronavirus infections topped 5.5 million on Thursday, while its fatalities increased to 159,477 after another 508 death cases were registered.


Brazil reported 22,282 new infections in the past 24 hours, taking the number of cases to 5,516,658, according to the ministry.

Brazil comes in second place in the world in the number of fatalities from the virus, only behind the United States, and third in the number of infections, after the United States and India.

The state of Sao Paulo is the state most distressed by the pandemic, with 39,255 death cases and 1,113,788 infections.
