(MENAFN- Khaama Press) DAYKUNDI, Afghanistan – Parents in Nili, downtown Daykundi, named their twin children Vladimir Putin and Barack Hussain Obama, according to sources, saying their preference was after the two known world leaders' personality and leadership characteristics.
Gholam Ali Peyman, father of the twins, said four years ago they negotiated over the name without a full knowledge of his wife being pregnant with twins.
'Sometimes I told my wife that if a boy was born, we would name him Barack Hussain Obama; but my wife insisted that we would name him Vladimir Putin," he said, adding God has blessed them with twins so they could name each as parents always wished.
Payman admires former United States President Barak Obama because of his moderate policies and leadership approach, while his wife applauds Russian incumbent President Vladimir Putin because of his courage in politics.
The father believes his initiative for naming their children as such breaks the conservative norms and, perhaps, helps bring nations of the worlds a step closer. According to Payman, the four-year-old Vladimir Putin is interested in English, computers, math and chess, while the four-year-old Barack Hussain Obama is interested in sports.
Previously, another family named their newborn Donald Trump three years ago in Daykundi, which triggered a widespread of perspective among social media users.
