Dengue infections augment in Laos


(MENAFN) Lao Ministry of Health advised authorities and people nationwide to stay watchful and aid control the spread of dengue fever, as cases are increasing.

According to a statement from the Lao Ministry of Health on Wednesday, October 28, dengue infections in Laos have increased to 7,504 with 12 fatalities since January.

The highest count of dengue patients was confirmed in capital Vientiane at 1,710, while 875 infections were registered in Bolikhamxay province, and 706 infections were registered in Bokeo province.

The 12 fatalities comprised four in Vientiane, two in Bolikhamxay and Khammuan correspondingly, and one each in Xayaboury, Xieng Khuang, Savannakhet and Phongsaly province.
