Kevin Arakelyan, who co-founded da Vinci's original engineering department and has two decades of experience in the industry, and is now the president of labs.dental, will be directing Essentials Dental Lab.

He noted that Essentials and da Vinci will continue to work closely together at their West Hills, CA, offices. The savings in the Essentials line will come from having Essentials options and labs.dental's buying power, which will enable it to provide cost-effective materials that do not require as much time-consuming technical and artistic craftsmanship.
'Advances in our CAD/CAM technology now enable us to produce monolithic dental restorations that meet the needs of many patients, but that do not always require layering by hand to produce esthetic results," Arakelyan explained. "We can also help dentists achieve additional labor savings by increasing productivity using chairside IOS scanners instead of making physical impressions."
Essentials Dental Lab will continue to serve the entire spectrum of practices, from those which prefer the traditional diagnostic wax-up process, to those which are fully digital.
