Ukraine- Zelensky wants reliable statistics on COVID-19

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has demanded that reliable statistics be provided in Ukraine on those who contracted COVID-19 and those recovered from the virus.

He noted this at a traditional conference call on countering the spread of COVID-19, the presidential press service reported.

"At the meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky raised the question about the reliability of the statistics on those who fell ill and those who recovered," the President's Office said.

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov, in turn, said that he does not receive all the figures on those who beat the disease, as many people recover from the virus in self-isolation.

He said that last spring, the Health Ministry made changes according to which recovery is determined by clinical symptoms, and a negative COVID-19 test is not required.

As of October 26, Ukraine recorded 348,924 coronavirus cases, including 5,426 new cases in the past 24 hours.
