Indian financial capital includes over 10,000 COVID-19 fatalities


(MENAFN) Based on data compiled Sunday by the Mumbai's civic body, the Indian city has reported more than 10000 fatalities related to the novel coronavirus disease, representing the first city to cross such mark.

The figures revealed that the total number of cases that have been reported in the Indian financial capital reached 248,722 by Sunday, while the death toll amounted to 10,016 and the recoveries, acting for 80 percent of the cases, hit 19,554 mark.

The city now has 633 active containment zones with 8,585 buildings that have been sealed to prevent the spread of infection.

Delhi, the worst affected Indian city, has 352,520 cases and has so far reported 6,225 deaths.
