Engineering 21st century logistics systems: a cultural perspective

(MENAFN- The Conversation) Description:Online public lecture by Ed Sweeney, professor of logistics and systems and head of Department of Engineering Systems & Supply Chain Management in the College of Engineering & Physical Sciences at Aston University.

Lecture overview: Products and services reach the final user through complex global networks of companies and processes. Economic and societal well-being in the 21st century is critically dependent on the logistics systems that underpin these supply chains.

This online lecture introduces the fascinating - but often invisible - world of logistics using a variety of cultural references to illustrate the key elements.

It also explores how the effective application of engineering principles and concepts – particularly design and systems thinking – can help to address some of the mega challenges facing logisticians and other supply chain professionals.
