(MENAFN- Gulf Times) MES Alumni Association (MESAA) is organising a football tournament MESF Football Tournament 2020, powered by Spirit Events, for the former students to reconnect and bring back the memories.
As many as 16 teams are taking part in the tournament that kicked off on October 22 at the MES ground. It will continue for five weeks with matches played every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Last year, 12 teams took part in the tournament and Zero Gravity FC lifted the trophy. The tournament committee, led by Mahroof al-Haq in 2019, consisted of Muksith Thangal, Abdulla Mohamed, Faheem al-Haq, Niaz Mohamed, Mohamed Nabeel, Sunil K Suresh, Suhail M Sheriff, Abdul Rauf, Waseem Ansar and Ashfaq Nassir.
The title sponsors of the tournament are Azym Technologies. The gold sponsors are: Al Muftah RAC, Family Food Centre, Black Olive Restaurant, Speed Line Printing Press & Total. The silver sponsors are: Parker Russell, Berries N More, MP Traders, G-MAX Hypermarket, Al Ansari Transport & Enterprises, Aster Medical Center, Rayyan Water & Talabat. The support sponsors are Roadway Express, Al Raza Photography, Juego Football, Jazp.com and Apple Red Advertising.
MESAA was first started in 2006 with like-minded alumni coming together under the aegis of the MES Youth Association (MESYA). MESAA management committee comprises of Ziad Usman, president; Akbar Ali, vice president; Nihad Ali, general secretary; Mahroof Al Haq, joint secretary (sports); Sajid Ettol, joint secretary (events); Narayani S Kumar, joint secretary (corporate relations); Amanat Solanki, joint secretary (marketing); Nermim Ummerkoya, joint secretary (member relations); and other co-ordinators.
