(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The Tunisian Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday 1,723 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).
This brings the total number of the country's confirmed infections with the infectious respiratory illness to 44,450, the ministry said in a statement.
The death toll since the outbreak of the virus in this north African country rose by 24 to 711, the ministry added.
In addition, 166 patients are in intensive care units, 47 cases are being put on ventilators, it added. (end)
