Indonesia registers 3,602 COVID-19 cases, 862 in Malaysia, 2,551 in Philippines


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The Indonesian Ministry of Health (MoH) on Tuesday recorded 3,602 additional COVID-19 cases and 117 deaths.
Overall infections surged to 368,842 cases, while the death toll hit 12,734 fatalities, they pointed out.
The ministry indicated that the total number of recoveries reached 293,653, which has a recovery rate of 79.6 percent.
Elsewhere, Malaysian MoH said in a statement that 862 cases were recorded to a total number of 22,225, while the death toll reached 193 after adding three.
Overall cured numbers in Malaysia reached 14,351, having a recovery rate of 64.6 percent, they mentioned.
On the other hand, the Philippines recorded 2,551 new cases of COVID-19, along with 23 more fatalities.
Philippine MoH mentioned that the total number of infections increased to 360,775, while the death toll hit 6,690.
The statement indicated the total healed numbers went up to 310,642, showing a recovery rate of 83.8 percent. (end)
