Jordan- Crackdown leads to arrest of 97 fugitives, racketeering suspects


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 18 (Petra) -- A total of 97 fugitives and suspected racketeers were arrested by a police commando force on Saturday after the Public Security Department (PSD) had launched a crackdown on "wanted fugitives, recidivists, racketeers and those who intimidate citizens".
A PSD spokesman said among those apprehended five placed on a most-wanted list and a number of repeat offenders, adding that clampdown will continue across the Kingdom "until all wanted and suspected persons are nabbed."
