Jordan- Inflation slightly up in first 9 months of 2020


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 18 (Petra) -- The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, inched up by 0.48 percent in the first nine months of 2020, reaching 101.04 points against 100.56 in the corresponding period of 2019.
According to figures by the Department of Statistics (DoS), the CPI edged up by 0.1 percent in September to 101 points compared with 100.9 percent in the same month last year.
On a cumulative level, the basic CPI for the first nine months of 2020 stood at 68.38, compared with 67.83 for the same period of 2019, indicating an increase of 0.81 percent.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a measure that examines the weighted average of prices of a basket of consumer goods and services, such as transportation, food, and medical care.
