Iranian delegation declares termination of weapon constraints


(MENAFN) The Iranian delegation to the United Nations declared on Saturday, October 17, the obliteration of travel and weapons constraints enforced upon the country as stated in Security Council Resolution 2231 starting on Sunday, October 18.

According to a press release of the delegation "Oct. 18, 2020 marks the fifth anniversary of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal or Iran deal) Adoption Day".

From this date and following UN Security Council Resolution 2231, states are no longer necessary to look for in advance case-by-case consent by the Security Council to connect in activities explained in paragraphs 5 and 6 (b) of Annex B of Resolution 2231, which comprise the supply, sale or transfer of weapons or associated materiel to and from Iran, the press release stated.
