Jordan: 20 coronavirus deaths, 1,505 new cases


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- Jordan announced on Saturday that 20 patients succumbed to coronavirus (COVID-19) and 1,505 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The death toll climbed to 330 and the overall infections stood at 36,053, a joint statement by the Cabinet and the Ministry of Health said.
Some 81 people recovered from the disease in the same period, it added.
It noted that the health authorities conducted about 13,000 medical tests in 24 hours, raising the total examinations to 1.5 million since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The full curfew imposed nationwide will end midnight, while the partial curfew will begin in the middle of this week from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. (local time).
Jordan began implementing a full curfew on Fridays and Saturdays every week as part of governmental measures to curb the spread of the virus. (end)
