Austria keen to maintain distinguished ties with Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- Austria is keen to sustain and nurture distinguished bilateral relations with Kuwait following the demise of Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the foreign minister said on Wednesday.
Speaking to KUNA, Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg said he was deeply sorrowed and affected by the demise of the late ruler, extending his condolences to the Kuwaiti people and the family of the deceased.
The minister wished his successor, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, all the best in his new role.
Vienna and Kuwait have been bound by distinguished decades-long bilateral relations, he underlined, adding Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and the late Kuwaiti ruler had a close relationship, meeting several times in Kuwait and at global conferences. (end)
