The provincial commerce department of Zhejiang province of China said on Wednesday that the online retail sales of Zhejiang Province went over 1.2 trillion yuan (USD177 billion) in the starting eight months of the current year, rising 11.4 percent compared to a year ago.
The province saw its cross-border online retail exports expand to 57.7 billion in the period from January to August, rising 21.9 percent since a year ago.
Residents in the province spent a total of 624.6 billion yuan in online shopping in the same period, rising 8.7 percent since a year ago.
Clothes, shoes and bags, home decorations and 3C digital goods (computers, communication and consumer electronics) were on the top three categories according to online sales, making up 28.7 percent, 20.5 percent and 15.6 percent of the total online retail sales.
