Vietnam: 2 killed, 7 injured due to downpours


(MENAFN) The country's Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control stated on Monday, September 28, heavy rainstorms hit some northern provinces of Vietnam over the last few days, killing two people and injuring seven others.

Two people in northern Phu Tho province, aged 6 and 37, passed away in a house fall down while seven from the same area were injured by the fall of houses' walls, stated the committee.

The rainstorms destructed 73 houses, 267 hectares of rice and 484 hectares of crops, according to the committee, stating that three bridges fell down, with the landslide volume approximated to be over 16,300 cubic meters.
