Kuwait COVID-19 cases climb by 590 to 102,441


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- The number of coronavirus infections in Kuwait rose by 590 on Friday to up the countryآ's total count to 102,441, while a trio of fatalities pushed its death toll to 595, health ministry data showed.
The figures include people who have had sustained contact with infected individuals and others whose source of infection is being investigated, according to ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad.
In terms of health zones, Al-Ahmadi Governorate logged the lionآ's share of cases with 138, followed by Hawally (134), Capital (122), Al-Jahra (110) and Farwaniya (86), added the spokesman.
The number of people needing hospital care stands at 8,284, 111 of whom are in intensive care units, he revealed, adding that some 4,730 swab tests were conducted in the past day out of a total of 729,755.
Some 601 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours to take the total to 93,562, he added, urging the general public to be mindful of health precautions and follow social distancing rules to help ward off the infectious disease. (end)
