Jordan- PDA takes part in UNRWA Adcom meeting


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept. 24 (Petra)-Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA), Rafiq Kharfan, valued the services provided by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to its Palestinian refugee beneficiaries.
Speaking at the conclusion of the recent UNRWA Advisory Commission (AdCom) held remotely, he pointed to the agency's measures to adapt to the Corvid-19 pandemic-induced consequences, especially efforts to suatain the learning process.
Kharfan also stressed the importance of UNRWA's coordination with its partners, to address any technical gaps that may arise.
The AdCom discussions went over a set of developments related to the UNRWA's financial position, as it is suffering a funding deficit of about $338 million, including $200 million related to the budget allocated to health, education and social relief programs.
