Qatar- GAC foils smuggling of banned substance


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Air Cargo Customs thwarted attempts to smuggle tambaku, a type of chewing tobacco banned in Qatar. Tambaku packs weighing a total of 27kg were found hidden inside a consignment of various foodstuffs, the General Authority of Customs (GAC) announced through its social media accounts.
In September second week, the Air Cargo Customs officials seized banned Captagon pills that were being smuggled to Qatar. As many as 34,990 pills were found to be concealed inside a consignment of small tables.
In July, Air Cargo Customs foiled attempts to smuggle four packs of crystal meth (Methamphetamine) weighing 734gm through Hamad International Airport.
