(MENAFN) Russia's Arctic LNG 2 (liquefied natural gas) plan is put to obtain all the intended external funding, as foreign backers have allegedly guaranteed to offer about USD9.5 billion in financial aid.

The long list of sponsors comprises Chinese and Japanese banks in addition to European credit and insurance firms, according to a file seen by Reuters. Asian equals are reported to have the most giving offers, with the China Development Bank giving USD5 billion and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) giving USD2.5 billion.

French state investment bank and credit agency Bpifrance and German credit insurance firm Euler Hermes are looking to give USD700 million in credit finance and USD300 million correspondingly. Italian Export Credit Agency SACE plans to set USD1 billion into the plan, while an unidentified Russian bank is supposedly allowing for a USD1.5 billion investment.
