United States import, export costs up in August


(MENAFN) On Tuesday September 15 the United States Department of Labor accounted that United States import and export costs both increased in August.

The cost index for United States imports proceeded 0.9 percent in August, subsequent to increasing 3.3 percent from April to July, previous to that, import costs reduced 5.6 percent from January to April, in spite of the recent increases, United States import costs refused 1.4 percent for the year finishing in August.

The cost index for United States imports from China was unaffected in August subsequent to a 0.2 percent proceed the preceding month, costs for imports from China refused 0.3 percent more than the past 12 months.

In the meantime, costs for United States exports increased 0.5 percent in August, subsequent to advancing 0.9 percent in July and 1.8 percent in June, In August, increasing nonagricultural costs more than counterbalance dropping agricultural costs; United States export costs refused 2.8 percent more than the past 12 months, the insignificant more than the year decrease since February 2020.
