(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore team has closed long term sponsorship deal with DP World for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).
One of the world's biggest logistic company DP World also sponsors Formula 1 Renault team and various other World Golf events.
DP World will be the Global Logistics Partner of the Royal Challengers Bangalore having signed a long-term partnership agreement with the IPL team.
Under the terms of the partnership Kohli's team will wear the DP World logo on their back jerseys during the IPL 2020.
According to a spokesperson of DP World, "The 2020 edition of the IPL has had to overcome several unique logistics challenges, with the tournament moving from its traditional home in India to the UAE.
"Under the partnership, DP World has been on hand to make sure the team and its players have the kit and equipment they need to compete for the trophy.This relationship reinforces DP World's ongoing investment and commitment to the Indian sub-continent, which is undergoing a major transformation in its supply chains through digital advancements and the rise of e-commerce.
"DP World has the right digital capabilities, and an established network of local ports and facilities, to support this growth".
The partnership also highlights DP World's capabilities in the business of sport, which not only includes moving the cargo and infrastructure required to deliver major global sporting events, but also transporting consumer sporting goods traded across global markets.
DP World is also the Global Logistics Partner and Title Partner of the Renault Formula 1 Team, which will become the Renault DP World F1 Team from the 2020 season.
Company also has sponsored various global golf events and properties like DP World Tour Championships, European Tour events and others. One of the most prominent name of the world golf, Ian Poulter is the global brand ambassador of the company.
Other than DP World, RCB's Title Sponsor is Muthoot Fincorp while Max Life Insurance is their official Life Insurance Partner and also Apparel Partner for the upcoming edition.
The other brands associated with the franchise are-Myntra, Jio, Exide, Nuvoco, Astral Pipes and Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT).
RCB is scheduled to play Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening match in the IPL 2020 on Sep 2.
