Eurozone reports drop in annual inflation

The yearly inflation in the euro area is predicted to reach -0.2 percent in August, reporting a decline from 0.4 percent in July, according to the statistical office of the European Union, Eurostat, on Tuesday.

Food, alcohol and tobacco a predicted to report1.7 percent of inflation rate, the biggest out of all categories, even though it dropped 2.0 percent in July, energy is predicted to post an inflation rate of -7.8 percent, the lowest out of all category.

Out of all the 19 euro countries, Cyprus is predicted to post the lowest yearly inflation rate of -2.9 percent in August, as Greece is expected to see -2.1 percent as Slovakia is predicted to post the biggest inflation rate of 1.5 percent, as Lithuania follows at 1.2 percent.

In August, European countries keep easing the coronavirus imposed restrictions, however, some regions re imposed the containment rules as the number of cases continued to increase.
