UAE- 22 Fujairah outlets warned for flouting anti-Covid measures in 2 months


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) As many as 22 outlets have been issued warning letters by the Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality for not observing the precautionary measures enforced to curb Covid-19 pandemic.

Taleb Abdullah Yahyai, director of the civic body, said the erring outlets were detected during 257 inspections and raids launched across the city in July and August this year.

"Inspection campaigns are carried out on a daily basis in health and food institutions all over the Dibba Al-Hisn city in the emirate of Fujairah."

The civic body spares no effort to ensure public safety of its residents and visitors, he pointed out. "All anti-Covid-19 measures are strictly complied with to stymie spread of the virus."

The latest figures show that the health control section under the Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality has carried out 1,147 inspections and raids this year so far, Yahyai said.

"Up to 62 outlets have been issued warning letters for violating the prescribed rules and regulations till now."

The environment control section has conducted six inspections, Yahyai added.

"A total of 937 raids were carried out by the veterinary services section which issued 14 warning letters and imposed eight fines against violating institutions, while the cleanliness and sewage section conducted 30 inspections and raids."

Yahyai said the health control section has directed all salons to strictly adhere to the anti-Covid-19 measures.

"These measures include cleanliness and regular, daily sterilisation of used tools and chairs, booking appointments in advance, physical distancing of minimum two meters, , using hand sanitisers and single-use tools, wearing gloves and masks."
