Saudi- Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University Launches Health Track Applicants' Physical Examinations


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Dammam, August 11, 2020, SPA -- The Family and Community Medical Center (FCMC) at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam, in collaboration with the Deanship of Admission and Registration has started to conduct the necessary examinations for male and female applicants who have been admitted to the health track for the Academic Year 1441-1442 last Sunday.
Dr. Shaher Al Shehri, Executive Director of FCMC pointed out that the physical examinations are carried out according to the highest precautions and preventive measures. To ensure that social distancing was maintained while examination is being conducted, appointments are scheduled on different days and there was specified numbers for each day. According to Dr. Al Shehri, upon students' arrival at the center, examinations started with visual monitoring and thermal screening procedures for COVID-19. Thereafter, students were directed to the designated medical clinics and medical laboratory to conduct the rest of the necessary examinations. This process will continue until the end of August according to Dr. Al Shehri.
At the same time, Dr. Al Shehri pointed out that during the previous years, failure to pass the physical examinations was very rare, indicating that this process is related to chronic diseases that affect the regulations in the Health Track and it does not include COVID-19 as it only requires isolation for a specific period.
Dr. Al Shehri concluded by wishing all the applicants success in this track.
Dr. Abdullah Bin Saeed Al Murayh, Dean of Admission and Registration of IAU, confirmed that the physical examination is the final step for students to be accepted to the health track prior to their academic enrollment. He also stated that students who do not pass the examinations will be transferred to other study tracks according to terms and conditions in each track. Dr. Al-Murayh announced that the first week of the examinations is allocated for female students, whereas the next week will be for male students; indicating that all procedures will be completed by the end of August.
