Israel prepared for battle with Lebanon

(MENAFN) Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Penny Gantz stated on Monday that Israel is prepared for a battle with Lebanon if such battle is forced on Tel Aviv.

In his meeting to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Gantz cautioned that such war would have grave effects on Lebanon.

He stated, "While [Hezbollah leader Hasan] Nasrallah is our biggest enemy in the north, he is Lebanon's biggest problem".

Gantz also stated that the condition in the Middle East in the past decade was delicate and ambiguous; emphasizing that Israel will carry on with the efforts to halt Iran from obtaining nuclear power, and from functioning in Syria.
