Kuwait- UAE sends urgent medical aid to Lebanon after Beirut port blast


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- UAE announced Thursday that they dispatched urgent medical assistance to Lebanon due to the Beirut port massive explosion.
Emirates News Agency (WAM) said that the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) explained that it would provide medicines, medical equipment and food supplements for children, in addition to other necessary supplies.
This aid will be sent urgently to Beirut via an aid airplane that departs at a later time, carrying the first batch of humanitarian aid.
Focus will be at this stage on medical supplies to enhance the ability of Lebanese health institutions to provide the necessary medical care for the injured, noting that they are working in coordination with the UAE embassy in Beirut to determine priorities in the current stage and actual needs.
The explosion, which occurred last Tuesday in a warehouse at the Beirut port, resulted in countless casualties and enormous damage to homes, cars and infrastructure. (end)
