Algeria reopens mosques for people

(MENAFN) The official APS news agency stated that Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune Monday declared that his country "is reviewing the possibility to reopen mosques for the public".

The president made the comments in a conference of the High Security Council attended by top military and security officials in addition to cabinet members to measure the coronavirus epidemic inside the country.

Tebboune taught Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad to set a slow reopening of mosques.

The first stage of the program will be restricted to 1,000 large mosques in the country, which "will be able to allow the essential physical distancing with the imperative wearing of masks by all," he added.
