Nigeria: Coronavirus infections exceed 41,000


(MENAFN) Health authorities declared on Wednesday that the COVID-19 cases count in Nigeria has stood at 41,804.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control stated in its latest update "On the 28th of July 2020, 624 new confirmed cases and 8 deaths were recorded in Nigeria".

It added that so far, 41,804 virus infections have been reported, counting 18,764 recoveries and 868 death cases in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The commercial capital Lagos, Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), and southwestern Oyo state have registered the most infections.

In the meantime, authorities in the West African country allotted rules for the congregational Eid al-Adha prayers.
