(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, July 26 (KUNA) -- Qatar announced on Sunday that the third phase of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions will begin on Tuesday, in accordance with the public health indicators in the society.
The move comes in line with the decrease in the active cases registered every day, the Qatari supreme committee for crisis management said in a statement.
The third phase includes the continuation of the gradual re-opening of mosques and prayers halls, allowing Friday and Eid prayers to be performed in a number of mosques, provided that the precautionary measures are implemented, it noted.
The statement said that the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs would provide further details concerning this point.
It pointed out that the stage will also allow public and private gatherings with a maximum of 10 people in closed places and 30 persons in open places.
It stressed the necessity of adhering to the precautionary measures, mainly keeping safe distances and wearing face masks.
The statement pointed to the continued closure of the acrades, and sports exercise in public parks and the corniche.
It permits sports to amateurs and professionals in large gyms with a maximum of 40 people, and with no maximum in the open spaces, stressing the need of keeping safe distances.
Sporting championships will be held without fans, it said, noting that nurseries and child care homes will resume their activities with a capacity of 50 percent.
The statement underlined the necessity of implementing the precautionary measures determined by the Ministry of Public Health after the approval of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs.
In addition, it pointed to the resumption of activities in several facilities and institutions, with a varied capacity ranging from 30 to 75 percent, provided that all precautionary measures are applied.
Tuning to the next phase of lifting the virus restrictions depends on cooperation of all people and the implementation of the precautionary measures determined by the Cabinet, including wearing face masks when going out and downloading the application of the precaution and social distancing, the statement concluded.
