(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) LOWER DIR: The district administration of Lower Dir has banned the movement of tourists during Eidul Azha owing to the fears of coronavirus spread.
The administration has issued instructions that tourists will never be given permission to go to Kumrat, Laram, Bin Shahi and other tourist places in any case.
Deputy Commissioner Saadat Hassan said while addressing a high-level meeting at the District Council Hall on Wednesday that tourists to Lower and Upper Dir districts use the route of Lower Dir during Eid days. He said the concerned authorities have been directed not to allow the tourist vehicles to cross Lower Dir. He said even the vehicles having official registration number will not be allowed to cross Lower Dir.
Assistant commissioner, additional assistant commissioner, all tehsil municipal officers, representatives of trade bodies and Ulema attended the meeting. The deputy commissioner said during the meeting that there is complete ban on proscribed outfits from collecting hides of sacrificial animals. He said strict action will be taken if the ban was violated.
Saadat Hassan urged the people to develop the practice of collective sacrifice during Eidul Azha. He said different organisations can play their role in this regard.
The deputy commissioner directed all the tehsil municipal officers to ensure provision of clean drinking water to people during Eid. He also asked the relevant authorities to keep a watch on River Panjkora and ensure that no one dispose wastes of sacrificial animals in the river. He said strict action will be taken if anyone polluted the river.
The deputy commissioner directed that disinfectant spray must be applied in seven cattle markets of Lower Dir. He said cattle markets must operate under the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to avoid the spread of coronavirus. He said wearing of facemasks in the cattle markets is mandatory, while the use of sanitizers by the people will also be ensured.
Saadat Hassan said the administration will ensure that the rules of social distancing are followed at the cattle markets and unnecessary gatherings of the people will be avoided. He said negligence by any official on cleanliness will never be tolerated.
