Kuwait- Brazil records over 40,000 new coronavirus cases, at least 1,300 deaths


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 22 (KUNA) -- Brazil recorded in the past 24 hours over 40,000 new coronavirus cases and at least 1,300 deaths.
According to Brazilآ's health ministry Wednesday, 41,008 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the countryآ's total to at least 2,159,654.
The ministry also reported 1,367 new deaths as the countryآ's death toll from the coronavirus reached 81,487.
This comes as Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro tested positive twice for coronavirus since he took his first test earlier this month and awaits the results of his third test today, as also two ministers have tested positive and three top government officials.
Brazil ranks second after in the US in the number of coronavirus cases and deaths globally. (end)
