UNRWA launches stricter Covid-19 measures in Lebanon's Palestinian camps


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Beirut, July 11 (Petra)- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) announced it has taken strict measures to confront the Covid-19 in Lebanon's Palestinian refugee camps after 3 new infections were recorded in the country's southern Rashidieh camp, including an UNRWA employee.
The agency said other tests carried out inside the camp will be announced next Monday.
As a part of its prompt health response, UNRWA has asked all its staff, who have been in contact with infected people to comply to home quarantine, reassuring the camp's residents of its anti-Covid- 19 efforts, in cooperation with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and all stakeholders, according to an agency statement.
Moreover, UNRWA highlighted the necessity to strictly adhere to all preventive measures, including physical distancing, wearing masks and sterilizing hands.
