Saudi-led coalition destroys two Houthi boats rigged with explosives


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, July 9 (KUNA) -- Forces of the Saudi-commanded coalition for supporting legitimacy in Yemen confronted and destroyed two "Houthi" boats laden with explosives, posing a threat to navigation in the Red Sea.
Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Col. Turki Al-Malki said in a statement on Thursday the forces targeted and destroyed, early today, two "targets of the terrorist, Iran-backed Houthi militia six kilometers South of Saleef port." These targets posed an imminent threat to sea lanes, international trade and regional and international security, he said.
The destroyed targets were two bomb-laden USVs, "prepared to imminently execute hostile and terrorist actions in Bab Al-Mandab Strait and Southern Red Sea, Col. Al-Malki said.
