U.S. Chief visits Lebanon, causing anti-U.S. demonstrations

(MENAFN) Visiting U.S. Central Command Chief Kenneth McKenzie underlined on Wednesday the importance of conserving Lebanon's security, stability, and authority.

A media announcement from the U.S. embassy in Lebanon said Mckenzie made the comments while joining with Lebanese President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace to debate future relations between the two countries.

The one-day visit to Lebanon also comprised summits with senior Lebanese political and defense leaders.

The National News Agency stated, in the meantime, over 200 Lebanese people assembled on the airport's road in a demonstration against the visit of McKenzie.
