Palestinians protesting Israeli land grab clash with troops, settlers


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, June 6 (Petra) –– Israeli troops Monday fired tear gas and stun grenades during clashes with Palestinians who confronted them to stop bulldozers that were opening a road for Jewish settlers north of the occupied West Bank.
Ghassan Daglas, the Palestinian official in charge of the settlement file in the Northern West Bank, said in a statement that clashes erupted near the town of Hawara, south of the city of Nablus, when local Palestinians tried to stop the bulldozers that were removing earth to build the road on land expropriated by the occupation authority.
He said that soldiers fired tear gas and percussion bombs to disperse the protesters, injuring a number of people.
