Patrick is currently a Technical Officer in the Palaeontology Department at the Australian Museum and an Honorary Research Associate with the Biology Department at Macquarie University, Australia. He obtained a PhD from Macquarie University in 2016 after constructing a primarily biostratigrahpic scheme for the Middle Cambrian of the Amadeus Basin in central Australia. His main research interests is Cambrian and Ordovician trilobite biostratigraphy in Australia, particularly with a focus on the Northern Territory and New South Wales. However, he is also collaboratively working on projects describing Middle and Early Cambrian trilobites from various places around the world.
