Qatar National Library events in July to focus on manuscripts & science enrichment

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar National Library (QNL) continues to offer a comprehensive array of exciting online events  this month to help people of all ages improve their skills and increase their knowledge.
On July 1, join QNL online for the first in a series of talks providing a look at rare historical works from Qatar National Library's collection of manuscripts. Entitled Readings in the Manuscript Collection: An Introduction to the History of the Heritage Library — the series offers a great opportunity to explore the rich collection of the Heritage Library, alongside its digital and virtual services.
This introductory talk by Mohammed Hammam Fikry, Heritage and Rare Books Adviser at Qatar Foundation, will introduce the Heritage Library's history, its foundation and the development of the collection until it became the core collection, which Qatar National Library was built upon.
Mahmoud Zaki, the Manuscript Librarian at the library, will moderate the talk and provide an overview of the collection's masterpieces and some fundamental terms, concepts, and disciplines, and will analyse why it's so important to care for manuscripts and old texts.
Also on July 1, as part of the library's lecture series 'Our Children Matter',  the QNL will bring you Five Stars Upbringing by Dr. Jasem Al Mutawa via Microsoft Teams. Dr. Jasem will present educational theories and behavioural patterns in children, as well as outlining positive methods to deal with these behaviours.
