Qatar- PHCC stresses persons who undergo Covid-19 drive through testing won't get gray colour in Ehteraz

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has confirmed that people who undergo testing at Covid-19 drive-through testing centres will not get "gray colour" in EHTERAZ application, as the colour will remain green after taking the medical swab.

The PHCC added that it will contact Covid-19 positive cases.

The PHCC has established three Covid-19 drive-through testing centres - in Al Waab, Al Thumama, and Labeeb - adding that only those who are invited are examined, as this service is not available to the public and it is limited only to those who meet the agreed national standards, as examination will be conducted only for cases that have received the invitation.

Director of Cancer Early Screening Programme at the PHCC, Dr Sheikha Abu Sheikha, said in response to queries that some individuals who are over 50 years old, as well as persons with chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and blood pressure, are contacted through SMS and invited to undergo testing while they remain inside their vehicles.

She added that the persons who are invited to get tested at drive-through testing centres are concerned about the possibility of the colour in their Ehteraz application changing from green to gray, stressing that this won''t happen until the results of the tests appear, as the colour on the application will be linked to the result directly.

She explained that people who do not undergo tests despite receiving invitation won''t have any procedures against them as they are not in contact with infected people, but are invited to undergo initial examination subject to their acceptance.

Within the framework of the national efforts to confront the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the PHCC has launched three Cobid-19 drive-through testing centres which operate from 2pm to 10pm. The working hours may be extended in the future if necessary.

The PHCC stressed that this expansion of testing facilities will not only help in preventing the spread of Covid-19 but will also help in early detection of the disease, especially among the people most vulnerable to infection, and thus preventing transmission to critical cases and slowing the spread of the virus in society.

These temporary swab centres operate by invitation only, where people are selected and prioritised by three criteria, - those in contact with Covid-19 patients, the elderly, and people with chronic health problems.

Those invited will receive SMS to confirm the appointment to undergo the testing.
