Fahrettin Koca, the health minister of Turkey, said on Sunday that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country rose 1,192 in the earlier 24 hours as 23 more patients have died due to the infection.
The total number of COVID-19 infections across the country has increased to 187,685 as the number of deaths increased to 4,940, the minister wrote on Twitter.
The official also added that 1,412 more patients have recovered from the disease in the earlier 24 hours, increasing the total number of coronavirus recoveries to 160,240.
According to the minister, health authorities have conducted 40,496 coronavirus tests in the earlier day, as the total number of coronavirus tests increased to 2,945,240.
