Qatar- Ooredoo's live webinar with Plug and Play a huge success

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Ooredoo, the region's leading enabler of digital business innovation, announced yesterday that its first-ever live virtual event was a roaring success.
The live Best Practices webinar, held on June 10, was co-hosted with Silicon Valley-based Plug and Play — the world's largest start-up accelerator and corporate innovation platform, with whom Ooredoo cemented a partnership in 2019 — and also featured Wheel the World, a start-up with which it connected via Plug and Play. The webinar shared learnings and insights into best innovation practices for the business ecosystem.
The virtual event kicked off with a live Q & A with Fatima Al Kuwari, Chief Consumer Officer at Ooredoo Qatar. Fatima answered a number of questions on Ooredoo's involvement with start-ups and where they fit into its development strategy, detailing the partnership with Plug and Play and the aims of investing in innovation. She described Qatar as a ‘fantastic environment' for new enterprises, noting the large number of start-ups present in the country as a prime example of its nurturing, enabling environment, and credited Plug and Play with facilitating connections with ‘best-of-breed', low-risk start-ups both within the region and further afield.
Following Fatima's live Q & A, the Ooredoo Digital Enablement team provided greater detail on the success of the first year of the partnership between Ooredoo and Plug and Play, with Wheel the World representing a prime example of achievements so far. A deep-dive discussion highlighted key elements of the innovation journey, offering insights into aims, protocols, challenges and more. Some 174 participants joined the live event from several countries around the world, submitting a variety of pertinent questions for the Q & As.
Sabah Rabiah Al Kuwari, Director PR, Ooredoo Qatar, said: 'We were delighted to have the opportunity to organise this event with Plug and Play, not least because it was yet more evidence of our commitment to adapting our operations during these unprecedented, challenging times. We were overwhelmed with the response to the event, and pleased to see so many attendees taking part and contributing with questions. We hope everyone found the webinar interesting and informative, and we look forward to more such events in the future, whether online or back to our physical norm.
