Jordan- 350 citizens arrive in Aqaba from Egypt


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Aqaba, June 7 (Petra) -- An Arab Bridge Maritime ferry coming from Egypt docked at the port of Aqaba early Sunday, carrying 346 Jordanian citizens.
Aqaba Governor, Ghassan Kayed, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that security and medical personnel have taken the utmost protection measures to receive the citizens, who requested to return to the Kingdom due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The new arrivals were transported to the Dead Sea for quarantine, while the transporting buses were sanitized under the supervision of specialized medical personnel," he added.
Director general of the Jordan Maritime Commission, Muhammad Salman, said that today's arrivals were among the first batch of the plan to return Jordanians who are stranded abroad through the sea crossing, stressing that they were received according to standard precautions for preventing the spread of the virus.
