(MENAFN) Based on statement issued on Monday by local officials, three Afghan provinces have been targeted by several attacks, with 7 lives being claimed as a result.
Xinhua news agency quoted , Abdul Shaeq Shurash, provincial police \official as announcing that on Monday, Major Sayyed Monir, a senior provincial traffic police official was shot and killed by Taliban gunmen on the outskirts of Mahmud-e-Raqi, capital of eastern Kapisa province.
According to the provincial spokesman, "Deceased Sayyed Monir was on his way to office when the militants conducted the terrorist attack. The provincial police units were searching for the culprit after the shooting."
In a separate report, Xinhua cited Imran Payyam, the district chief as saying that the Taliban insurgents murdered two Afghan Regional Army members in Wardoj district in northern Badakhshan province on Sunday night.
