(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Cairo, May 31, 2020, SPA -- The League of Arab States praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's organizing, in partnership with the United Nations next Tuesday, the Yemen High-level Pledging Event 2020 and the announcement of financial pledges to meet basic needs there.
Assistant Secretary-General, Head of Social Affairs of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency, SPA, that the organization of the conference is an important humanitarian initiative given Yemen's need for support at all levels, especially in this difficult stage the world is living in due to Coronavirus.
She said that Yemen is facing a major humanitarian crisis and needs support from states and international humanitarian and relief organizations affiliated to the United Nations
She also drew attention to the fact that the League of Arab States received many memorandums from Yemeni demanding support to face the difficult conditions experienced by the Yemeni people, especially the work related to humanitarian support.
She stressed that the League of Arab States praises the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiative in partnership with the United Nations, stressing the importance of the United Nations and the institutions involved in providing support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian initiative.
