Main internet companies in China post rising revenue in 2020 first 4 months

Official data showed that the internet and related services sector in China saw a robust growth in the starting four months of the current year with increasing revenues in spite of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released data showing that the main internet firms in China earned a total of USD48.32 billion in the cited period, marking a growth of 4.9 percent compared to a year earlier.

The industry's operating profit saw an expansion of 4.8 percent in the period since a year ago to set at a total of USD4.58 billion, recovering from the decline it saw in the starting quarter.

The research and development spending of the sector rose 5.3 percent in the first four months to total USD2.42 billion.
