COVID-19: three deaths, 1,993 new cases in Qatar


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, May 29 (KUNA) -- Qatar said on Friday coronavirus deaths rose by three to 36 as positive cases increased by 1,993 to 52,807.
Health authorities attributed the fatalities to patients, aged 84, 65 and 48, who had been suffering from chronic diseases and were being hospitalized at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As for the newly-registered cases, a statement revealed these comprise expatriate workers and nationals and their families, who were infected after having made contact with others already infected.
Meanwhile, some 5,205 people have been cured of the virus as this total reached 20,604. (end)
