Health authorities of Malawi said on Monday that 18 more coronavirus infections have been reported in the country, increasing the total number of COVID-19 cases across the nation to 101 from an earlier reported 83.
Jappie Mhango, the Health and Population Service minister in the country, said during his daily coronavirus update that 13 of the newly diagnosed patients are Malawi citizens who have recently came back from Zimbabwe.
The official said that a total of 4 patients have died due to the disease as the number of recoveries stood at 37 since the first case was reported on the 2nd of April, the number of active acases in the country stands at 60 for now.
The Malwai public health institute said that a total of 3,324 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the country so far.
