Lebanon: 17 people test positive for coronavirus


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, May 24 (KUNA) -- Up to 17 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19 in past hours raising toll of infections in Lebanon to 1,114, Lebanese Ministry of Health said on Sunday.
The ministry said in its daily report about the pandemic that no deaths took place in past 24 hours, thus tally of fatalities resulting from the germ remained unchanged at 26 cases.
Recovery cases have so far totaled 688, the ministry said, adding that 2,410 tests for the virus were conducted during the past 24 hours.
Lebanese Government had decided to extend state of mobilization, in force since May 25, until June 7, as part of constrains to stem spread of the invisible pathogen that has far infected more than five million people worldwide. (end)
