(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan chaired a consultative meeting of Members of National Assembly and KP Assembly from merged tribal districts in Peshawar on Saturday in which the annual development programme for the tribal districts was discussed.
All parliamentarians from merged districts including Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri attended the meeting.
The chief minister said while addressing the meeting that swift development of merged tribal districts is among the top priorities of the government. He said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is taking concrete steps for development of tribal districts.
Mehmood Khan said he is personally monitoring development projects in merged areas. He said no compromise will be made on timely completion of development projects. He assured that all the development projects in merged areas will be initiated after consultation with the local lawmakers.
The chief minister said the government under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan completed the merger of erstwhile Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a befitting manner. He said the benefits of the merger have already started and more benefits will start appearing soon.
Mehmood Khan said although the government is facing the problem of resources constraints, but that problem will not dent the resolve of the government for development of merged areas. He said the process of consultation with the parliamentarians of merged areas will continue in future. He said the development projects identified by the elected representatives will be included in the annual development programme.
IGFC provides Rs100,000 for treatment of ailing girl
Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) South has provided Rs100,000 for treatment of a 15-year-old ailing girl in South Waziristan.
Local sources said the daughter of Sherpao Mehsud, a resident of Civil Lines Tank, has a tumour in her head and the poor man cannot afford her treatment. He had appealed to IGFC Major General Azhar Abbasi, Deputy Commissioner Tank, Sector Commander South and well off people to help him for treatment of his ailing doctor.
The IGFC South after coming to know about the matter, the IGFC South provided Rs100,000 for treatment of the girl.
